BIO 101
Welcome to Christmas’ Biology 101. This is how I taught a classmate, 2 years ago, what a nerve impulse was.
By definition, the resting potential is the electrical potential across the plasma membrane of a cell that is not conducting an impulse.
The action potential is the reversal and restoration of the electrical potential across the plasma membrane of a cell, as an electrical impulse passes along it. YAWN. I think I fell asleep three times just reading that, much less register anything wtf.
Na+ ions: horniness
K+ ions: non-horniness
to ejeculate, must be filled with both horniness and non-horniness[why ah, because dowan to move want to ejeculate already].
at rest, filled with non-horniness.
Stage 1 inside impulse -ve charge, K in Na out (Before [Arousal])
at resting potential, slowly increase to threshold level
1) Na+ ions diffuse from region AP occurred to not occured la duh. [from brain to ahem]
2) Na+ ions increase voltage [damn charged sia wahahaha wtf]
Stage 2 inside impulse +ve charge, Na & K in (Depolarization [Ejeculation])
attain threshold level and wayyyy above
3) Once increased from resting potential to threshold level [must reach certain level of excitement before ejeculation can take place lor], voltage-gated channels open [before lava can er, shoot out]
4) Na+ moves into neurone down conc gradient [because damn horny]
5) +ve charge develops in neurone (Depolarization) [state of nirvana wtf, can shoot already]
Stage 3 inside impulse -ve charge, Na in K out (Repolarization [wait a while before next time])
- potential nosedives and then dips below resting
6) Potassium channels open after slight delay [must wait a while before next one ok wtf machine ah]
7) K+ move out, conc gradient [non-horniness moves out, back to normal state of perpetual horniness wtf]
8) Net -ve charge in neurone (Repolarization) [ze end!]
Stage 4 inside impulse -ve charge, K in Na out (After [Restore to prepare for next one])
returns to resting potential
9) K+ & Na+ ions exchange places; Na+ diffuses out [to get ready for another erec, I mean, action potential]
So, essentially,
The resting potential is the state a guy is in when he’s not aroused or excited lah. Normally is like that lo, what else to say. Ho-hum.
The action potential, is the reversal and restoration (wtf these science geeks hate sex) of a non-erection wtf.
Yeah, if you see your classmate giggling to himself during Bio lesson or even an exam, you’ll know why now…seriously la, who says Bio is boring?
God reuses everything lah. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it :D
